Beauty [print]    [email]
Beauty
The Teton Range by Thomas Moran

Beauty is the Integration of Reality

The discernment of supreme beauty is the discovery and integration of reality: The discernment of the divine goodness in the eternal truth, that is ultimate beauty. Even the charm of human art consists in the harmony of its unity.

The Urantia Book, (2:7.8)

Universal beauty is the recognition of the reflection of the Isle of Paradise in the material creation...

The Urantia Book, (56:10.9)

Beauty is the intellectual recognition of the harmonious time-space synthesis of the far-flung diversification of phenomenal reality, all of which stems from pre-existent and eternal oneness.

The Urantia Book, Page 647, (56:10.11)

The Lure of Beauty

"Beauty is always triumphant over ugliness in the hearts of all who are illuminated by the love of truth."

Jesus, The Urantia Book, Page 1739, (156:5.5)

Beauty is most religious when it is most simple and naturelike

The Urantia Book, Page 1840, (167:6.6)

The presence of a friend enhances all beauty and exalts every goodness.

The Urantia Book, Page 1776, (160:2.8)

Beauty, Truth and Goodness

In the physical universe we may see the divine beauty, in the intellectual world we may discern eternal truth, but the goodness of God is found only in the spiritual world of personal religious experience.

The Urantia Book, (2:6.1)

Beauty, rhythm, and harmony are intellectually associated and spiritually akin. Truth, fact, and relationship are intellectually inseparable and associated with the philosophic concepts of beauty. Goodness, righteousness, and justice are philosophically interrelated and spiritually bound up together with living truth and divine beauty.

The Urantia Book, (44:7.2)

Truth is the basis of science and philosophy, presenting the intellectual foundation of religion. Beauty sponsors art, music, and the meaningful rhythms of all human experience. Goodness embraces the sense of ethics, morality, and religion--experiential perfection-hunger.

The Urantia Book, (56:10.10)

Truth, beauty, and goodness are divine realities, and as man ascends the scale of spiritual living, these supreme qualities of the Eternal become increasingly co-ordinated and unified in God, who is love.

The Urantia Book, (2:7.10)

Truth is coherent, beauty attractive, goodness stabilizing. And when these values of that which is real are co-ordinated in personality experience, the result is a high order of love conditioned by wisdom and qualified by loyalty.

The Urantia Book, (2:7.12)

Mortal man must, through the recognition of truth, the appreciation of beauty, and the worship of goodness, evolve the recognition of a God of love and then progress through ascending deity levels to the comprehension of the Supreme.

The Urantia Book, (56:6.3)

To finite man truth, beauty, and goodness embrace the full revelation of divinity reality.

The Urantia Book, (56:10.20)

God answers man's prayer by giving him an increased revelation of truth, an enhanced appreciation of beauty, and an augmented concept of goodness.

The Urantia Book, (91:8.11)

Spirituality enhances the ability to discover beauty in things, recognize truth in meanings, and discover goodness in values.

The Urantia Book, (100:2.4)

Goodness is living, relative, always progressing, invariably a personal experience, and everlastingly correlated with the discernment of truth and beauty.

The Urantia Book, (132:2.7)

The sincere pursuit of goodness, beauty, and truth leads to God.

The Urantia Book, (195:6.17)

This concept of love generates in the soul of man that superanimal effort to find truth, beauty, and goodness; and when he does find them, he is glorified in their embrace; he is consumed with the desire to live them, to do righteousness.

The Urantia Book, (196:3.29)

The Beauty of God

The revelation of the truth about God is appearing, and the human race is destined to know the Universal Father in all that beauty of character and loveliness.

The Urantia Book, (4:5.7)

The Hebrews based their religion on goodness; the Greeks on beauty; both religions sought truth. Jesus revealed a God of love, and love is all-embracing of truth, beauty, and goodness.

The Urantia Book, (5:4.6)

The Beauty of Jesus' Life

What an awakening the world would experience if it could only see Jesus as he really lived on earth and know, firsthand, his life-giving teachings! Descriptive words of things beautiful cannot thrill like the sight thereof, neither can creedal words inspire men's souls like the experience of knowing the presence of God. But expectant faith will ever keep the hope-door of man's soul open for the entrance of the eternal spiritual realities of the divine values of the worlds beyond.
