Q: What is GOD's name? According to the bible and the Jehova's Witness, his name is Jehova (YHWH in Hebrew). How important is it that we recognize his name?

A: Perhaps the best way to look at it is this: if you have a wonderful father yourself, one you love deeply and respect and look up to and wanted to please you'll probably call him daddy or dad or father. That's what Jesus did... he called God "Father" and God is our Father just like he is Jesus' Father. So why not think of God as your Father or your heavenly Father?

Yes, I understand the name thing is big with Jehovah's Witnesses and Jehovah is a perfectly fine name, as are Abba and Allah and Yahweh, or any of the other thousand names for God, but personally I don't think any one name carries more weight than any other. What we call God is less important than our attitude toward God in our hearts and the final sentence in The Urantia Book is, "When all is said and done, the Father idea is still the highest human concept of God." That's good enough for me.

I agree with the Urantia book's statement about the highest concept of God's name being 'Father,'however I disagree with any other name or title given to him erroneously, such names as Jehovah, Allah('God' in arabic), Yahowah. These names are truly incorrect when you study the tetragrammaton. There was no "J" in hebrew, greek, latin, or arabic or even in english until the 14th century. "YHWH" is unpronounceable without vowels so "A"=[A] d [A] m, and "E"=[E] v [E] were insurted revealing to mystery behind the name making YAH masculine and WEH Feminine because God is the Father and Mother of us all. Also hidden is [A]ndrogen and [E]strogen which are hormones contained in the body that make up masculine males and feminine males(fe-males); "Male and Female created HE Them."

In Addition 'Joshua' is a ignominous rendering of the true hebrew name YAHshua. "I have come in my Father's name." [YAH]WEH=Father, Son YAH+Shua='Yahweh is salvation'. The 'Father' has 'saved' us by revealing his love towards us in Yahshua. So when the papers say's about 'Jesus' "Joshua ben Joseph" its really saying "Yahshua son of Yosef." Also ELOHIM is also a another divine title given to Yahshua(Jesus) in Rev 4: EAGLE, LION, OX, And the face of a Man(HIM).

I also believe what the Urantia papers says when they call him "Michael Christ(annointed)." But we need to analyze this futher 'Michael' is really a Title also. It means "Who is like God." So when a 'Michael Creator Son' creates a universe it is a certain type of High Priest of Paradise origin, a one who is like
God-the-Father that creates us. I really don't know what is his personal name. I'm quite sure he has one but I guess this will be revealed in the eternity of the future. Thanks for even reading this! :)

No name of a celestial being that we know would be a real name now would they since we now understand that there are, among others, a local universe language and a superuniverse language. Names of beings of origin in locations outside earth would be structured on the language of origin, not Latin or English. Some of the names we're given are titles, like Michael and Melchizedek; they're titles that have been translated into English so they would be completely unrelated to the actual incomprehensible titles. Some names are represented as numbers while others are coined in The Urantia Book from English and Latin roots to give additional meaning to the beings they represent, like Lananondek. I suspect that in its original form, even the unusual name for our world isn't much like the word Urantia that we now know.

So, I appreciate that the revelators have provided names we can relate to -- they're more handy for a human mind than the originals would be.

This is "Anonymous." I created an account, now I go by "Polymath." With reference to 'Titles' I do not know if their language have specific rules or guidelines governing their Celestial language or discourse, but I do somewhat consider the 'Titles' given to them to be universal. From an earthly perspective (which isn't much), The Names and Titles that are given to people are 'Proper Nouns' meaning that no matter what language a name is being expressed in, it is going to "be the same" and "mean the same," even if the language or name is symbolically expressed in languages unearthly. For example, through transliteration or translations things will have to be done according to definition (if they are not proper nouns).

My real name is "ANWAR;" this in Arabic means "Bright," but yet my name is being spoken in English. So are people to call me "Bright" through transliteration into English? Of course not! because Names and Titles are unchangeable into different languages; and it also must needs be too, seeing how some languages don't or may not even contain the characters needed or have a small amount of alphabets in their language. The Tongan language has 13 Alphabets with no J, but yet missionaries used an â€œSâ€� letter to give him a name. This does not make any sense.

And going back to my first point it is IMPOSSIBLE to translate "YAHSHUA son of YOSEF" into English and designate it as "JOSHUA/JESUS son of JOSEPH" because Hebrew as well as all Semitic languages (Arabic, Aramaic, etc) do not have the letter "J" including Latin, Greek, and other Indo-European dialects. The letter "J" is a 14th century late edition as the Latin "I" and was used interchangeable for some time then it was later established that "J" should be consonantal. So we truly are to call them by their Titles because those titles have meanings: MICHAEL "Who is like God", MELCHIZEDEK "King of Righteousness", ADONIZEDEK "Lord of Righteousness", BRILLIANT EVENING STAR, DIVINE COUNSELOR, in whatever language suitable to be understood! These names "Jesus, Joshua, Mary, Joseph" were really only relevant because the Revelatory Directors were writing the papers in a fashion that they would understood it in 1930 - 1950. How many people in the country, with the exception of the Jews (Yehudi) were familiar with the real proper noun Hebrew names such as Yahshua, Yusuf, Yahweh, Miriam, etc? No one at that time would have know who or what they were talking about; But when they used the names that the English people gave him, 'Jesus, Joshua, Jehovah,' etc, they understood it perfectly! In addition if English contain 26 letters in their Alphabets and the Hebrews 24(J & Q), why not just transliterate it? What sense did it make to change the names when the characters in Hebrew can be translated perfectly into English? In conclusion "Names and Titles" are basically interchangeable and congruent and therefore is relevant, even if the language is of celestial origin. The Title is a symbol for the definition or meaning of the Name.

1. Moses ask "I AM THAT I AM" or in hebrew "AHYH".
2. Form of this AHYH very exactly similiar form with hebrew "ebiel" mean MY FATHER IS GOD.
3.Jesus told us that He already reveal the name of GOD.
4.Jerusalem is home of GOD NAME. Jerusalem means YHWH (JEHOVAH) is shawlome (peace,happy,love).
5.Jesus told us that GOD is spirit so we have to love and pray in spirit (including understanding the GOD name).

So i conclude the name of GOD is OUR FATHER. But we must know that in spirit the name of GOD is non physically world touch and spelled.
So we call HIM as Peace and Love Caring Father of our ancestor.
