Student Visitors To The Finaliter's World
Q: In the Urantia book 47:1.1, it is stated that the student visitors are entertained in the finaliter’s world. How do the students travel to this world? Are these students human too?
A: In answer to your question regarding student visitors, I offer the following:
Administrator Seraphim
p436:1 (39:4.15) The Transporters. These are the transport seraphim who function in the local systems. In Satania, your system, they carry passengers back and forth from Jerusem and otherwise serve as interplanetary transporters. Seldom does a day pass in which a transport seraphim of Satania does not deposit some student visitor or some other traveler of spirit or semispirit nature on the shores of Urantia. These very space traversers will sometime carry you to and from the various worlds of the system headquarters group, and when you have finished the Jerusem assignment, they will carry you forward to Edentia.
Student visitors may or may not be human like us, but they are more than likely ascenders in the Father's plan as we are. Here is a description of the landing field - the sea of glass - on our system capital world:
Jerusem Receiving Field
p521:6 (46:2.9) Transports arrive on the crystal field, the so-called sea of glass. Around this area are the receiving stations for the various orders of beings who traverse space by seraphic transport. Near the polar crystal receiving station for student visitors you may ascend the pearly observatory and view the immense relief map of the entire headquarters planet.
And on this subject of angelic transport, I thought you might like to read something about these transporters, and their connections with our ideas of the way angels look:
p438:5 (39:5.12) The erroneous idea that angels possess wings is not wholly due to olden notions that they must have wings to fly through the air. Human beings have sometimes been permitted to observe seraphim that were being prepared for transport service, and the traditions of these experiences have largely determined the Urantian concept of angels. In observing a transport seraphim being made ready to receive a passenger for interplanetary transit, there may be seen what are apparently double sets of wings extending from the head to the foot of the angel. In reality these wings are energy insulators—friction shields.
When celestial beings are to be enseraphimed for transfer from one world to another, they are brought to the headquarters of the sphere and, after due registry, are inducted into the transit sleep. Meantime, the transport seraphim moves into a horizontal position immediately above the universe energy pole of the planet. While the energy shields are wide open, the sleeping personality is skillfully deposited, by the officiating seraphic assistants, directly on top of the transport angel. Then both the upper and lower pairs of shields are carefully closed and adjusted.
And now, under the influence of the transformers and the transmitters, a strange metamorphosis begins as the seraphim is made ready to swing into the energy currents of the universe circuits. To outward appearance the seraphim grows pointed at both extremities and becomes so enshrouded in a queer light of amber hue that very soon it is impossible to distinguish the enseraphimed personality. When all is in readiness for departure, the chief of transport makes the proper inspection of the carriage of life, carries out the routine tests to ascertain whether or not the angel is properly encircuited, and then announces that the traveler is properly enseraphimed, that the energies are adjusted, that the angel is insulated, and that everything is in readiness for the departing flash. The mechanical controllers, two of them, next take their positions. By this time the transport seraphim has become an almost transparent, vibrating, torpedo-shaped outline of glistening luminosity. Now the transport dispatcher of the realm summons the auxiliary batteries of the living energy transmitters, usually one thousand in number; as he announces the destination of the transport, he reaches out and touches the near point of the seraphic carriage, which shoots forward with lightninglike speed, leaving a trail of celestial luminosity as far as the planetary atmospheric investment extends. In less than ten minutes the marvelous spectacle will be lost even to reinforced seraphic vision.

Does My Guardian Angel Have A Name?
Thank you for your question to Truthbook.Com. You asked: I believe I have been led to the Urantia Book by my guardian angel called Nathaniel. Is he one of the angels?
Nearly all serious students of The Urantia Book feel that in one way or another they've been led to The Urantia Book by their angels. Since an awareness of the existence of this revelation is still pretty obscure it seems quite likely that sincere seekers for truth, who listen to the Spirit of Truth and ask for guidance from their angels are guided to the book if they're ready to receive its message.
Normally we're unaware of the ministry of our angels and of their names. You may call your angel by any name you wish -- Nathaniel is a perfectly good one; The Urantia Book does not give their names since there are many millions of them here lovingly performing various tasks.
Best wishes in your study of the book. May I recommend that if you're not already signed up that you consider subscribing to the Quote of the Day. Here are a few Urantia Book quotes to add to your understanding of these marvelous and sympathetic helpers of the celestial realms.
p1243:2 113:2.5 The angels develop an abiding affection for their human associates; and you would, if you could only visualize the seraphim, develop a warm affection for them. Divested of material bodies, given spirit forms, you would be very near the angels in many attributes of personality. They share most of your emotions and experience some additional ones. The only emotion actuating you which is somewhat difficult for them to comprehend is the legacy of animal fear that bulks so large in the mental life of the average inhabitant of Urantia. The angels really find it hard to understand why you will so persistently allow your higher intellectual powers, even your religious faith, to be so dominated by fear, so thoroughly demoralized by the thoughtless panic of dread and anxiety.
p1243:3 113:2.6 All seraphim have individual names, but in the records of assignment to world service they are frequently designated by their planetary numbers. At the universe headquarters they are registered by name and number. The destiny guardian of the human subject used in this contactual communication is number 3 of group 17, of company 126, of battalion 4, of unit 384, of legion 6, of host 37, of the 182,314th seraphic army of Nebadon. The current planetary assignment number of this seraphim on Urantia and to this human subject is 3,641,852.
p1245:7 113:5.1 Angels do not invade the sanctity of the human mind; they do not manipulate the will of mortals; neither do they directly contact with the indwelling Adjusters. The guardian of destiny influences you in every possible manner consistent with the dignity of your personality; under no circumstances do these angels interfere with the free action of the human will. Neither angels nor any other order of universe personality have power or authority to curtail or abridge the prerogatives of human choosing.
p1246:1 113:5.2 Angels are so near you and care so feelingly for you that they figuratively "weep because of your willful intolerance and stubbornness." Seraphim do not shed physical tears; they do not have physical bodies; neither do they possess wings. But they do have spiritual emotions, and they do experience feelings and sentiments of a spiritual nature which are in certain ways comparable to human emotions.
p1246:2 113:5.3 The seraphim act in your behalf quite independent of your direct appeals; they are executing the mandates of their superiors, and thus they function regardless of your passing whims or changing moods. This does not imply that you may not make their tasks either easier or more difficult, but rather that angels are not directly concerned with your appeals or with your prayers.
p1246:3 113:5.4 In the life of the flesh the intelligence of angels is not directly available to mortal men. They are not overlords or directors; they are simply guardians. The seraphim guard you; they do not seek directly to influence you; you must chart your own course, but these angels then act to make the best possible use of the course you have chosen. They do not (ordinarily) arbitrarily intervene in the routine affairs of human life. But when they receive instructions from their superiors to perform some unusual exploit, you may rest assured that these guardians will find some means of carrying out these mandates. They do not, therefore, intrude into the picture of human drama except in emergencies and then usually on the direct orders of their superiors. They are the beings who are going to follow you for many an age, and they are thus receiving an introduction to their future work and personality association.
p1246:4 113:5.5 Seraphim are able to function as material ministers to human beings under certain circumstances, but their action in this capacity is very rare. They are able, with the assistance of the midway creatures and the physical controllers, to function in a wide range of activities in behalf of human beings, even to make actual contact with mankind, but such occurrences are very unusual. In most instances the circumstances of the material realm proceed unaltered by seraphic action, although occasions have arisen, involving jeopardy to vital links in the chain of human evolution, in which seraphic guardians have acted, and properly, on their own initiative.
Thanks again for your question

Are there angels for every day of the week?
Q: Are there angels for every day of the week?
A: Thanks for your question regarding angels. I am offering you a section from The Urantia Book regarding angelic presence in a mortal life. I hope you find comfort in this.
To answer your specific question: I would say that you can rejoice in the fact that the angels are on the job seven days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year...in short, there is angelic presence available for you, not only every day of the week, but all the days of your life!!!
Please feel free to visit Truthbook.com again. The main page offers much more information on angels (click on the angel picture, for example...). Also, please feel free to subscribe to the Quote of the Day service which is offered free to anyone.
Thanks for writing!!!

Dates In The Urantia Book, And Women Who Followed Jesus
Q: Thank you for the information found on your website. It is quite surprising with regard to the specific dates of certain occurences. Can you please tell me how you came up with these dates? What/who are your sources?
I am researching these subject women in the Bible in an effort to "chronicle" their lives according to what I've read in The Bible and certain other articles. I am really curious to know if anyone can share with me the approximate ages of these women at the time of The Ascension, as well as any other information, e.g., the persecution of Lazarus and his sisters after the Crucifixion.
A: Thank you for your question to Truthbook.Com. We always appreciate hearing from someone who's just come across the teachings of The Urantia Book for the first time.
Yes, the information on our website is quite surprising and startling when first encountered. The Urantia Book is unique; one of its purposes is to provide (when necessary) information heretofore unknown or otherwise unavailable -- the specific dates of Jesus' life being one example. Another startling bit of information is that there is no "we" in coming up with information such as these dates presented by this marvelous book -- the book is a divine gift to humanity -- we read it and accept or disregard it as we choose. To our way of thinking there is no more definitive work on Jesus' life and teachings extant than can be learned through study of The Urantia Book.
You asked about the source. Do you believe in angels? If not you may have a challenge with accepting the caveat in the book relating to the Jesus Papers (Paper 120 through Paper 196) which says: "Part IV, The Life and Teachings of Jesus, This group of papers was sponsored by a commission of twelve Urantia midwayers acting under the supervision of a Melchizedek revelatory director. The basis of this narrative was supplied by a secondary midwayer who was onetime assigned to the superhuman watchcare of the Apostle Andrew."
Your research project is most challenging, partly because the role of women in religion has been historically suppressed by the role of men in religion. Much in The Urantia Book helps explain the roles of men and women from a perspective outside of a humanly skewed historical and religious viewpoint. The two questions you've asked regarding the women around Jesus and Lazarus's sisters are covered in The Urantia Book and I wouldn't want to spoil your discovery by simply answering them. There's a study on our site titled "Mary Magdalene and Other Women Who Followed Jesus" which will help you but don't stop there.
May I recommend that if you're not already signed up that you consider subscribing to the Quote of the Day. Best wishes and intriguing reading and unbounded discovery to you.

Questions About Angels
Q: Who was the first angel?
A: I guess that's something you're going to have to wait to have answered in the mansion worlds. Since we're in a small area of just one of the superuniverses that orbit around paradise and since the other superuniverses were inhabited before ours was, the first angel would have been created for the first free will creatures of the first superuniverse long before where we reside was even created.
You'll have more success in trying to learn who the angels of your supervision are – they'd be of more importance to you.
Q: Can it be possible to talk to you guardian angels and get a response back?
A: Rather than just saying no it would be better to say anything is possible; it's just very improbable that you will ever actually talk to your guardian angels or even know for certain they're there. They're called guardian angels because they watch over you; it's not in their job description to convince you that they're there, to make life easier for you or to talk to you, however much you may desire it. Just knowing they're there and that you're loved is blessing enough.
Q: Are angels only men?
A: Angels aren't sex creatures like we are but they do have positive or negative energy attributes similar to masculine or feminine traits. The angels we encounter in the Bible tend to have masculine names like Michael, Gabriel and Emmanuel but those beings weren't really angels in the strict sense – they're beings of a different order from the angels who actually minister to us. The ministering angels tend to work in positive and negative energy pairs – both masculine and feminine.
You may enjoy browsing through the angels section on our site and in our gallery – you'll see that much of classical art has historically depicted angels as feminine.Labels: angels, creatures, feminine, free will, guardian angels, masculine

The Religion of Jesus
Q: You question the use of the term “religion of Jesus.”
Jesus came here as an ambassador of The Kingdom of Heaven. The assumption that he was a divine being, a Son of God, would lead us to believe that he existed before coming here. He was not a Christian; Christianity arose around the fact of Jesus’ life on this world. Neither was he a Jew. He was raised as a Jew but had he been a devout Jew (in the sense of the Jewish beliefs and practices of his day) he would hardly have been crucified as a heretic and law-breaker. The Urantia Book defines religion in many ways but I like this one, “In its true essence, religion is a faith-trust in the goodness of God.” The religion of Jesus, then, is his whole life, his philosophy of living, the way he lived and the way he treated others with love, respect and dignity. He showed us how to live in grace and in accordance with God’s will. He showed us the real meaning of devoted and religious living. Religion is so much more than just the church you organized religious sect you belong to. To understand what is meant by “the religion of Jesus” one must expand one’s own concepts of the word “religion.”
Who is Jesus?
Jesus came forth directly from the Father. He is a perfect representation of the Father. Many times he said, “He who has seen me has seen the Father.” Do you say that Jesus is not the Father? The Urantia Book says that Jesus is as a Father/Brother to humanity. Always he pointed to the one true God, the Father of all and always did he tell us that the kingdom of God was within us.
Does God really exist?
What The Urantia Book points out is that if you are not already inclined to believe in the existence of God, there is nothing, no scientific experiment, or anything that anyone can say or do to convince you that he does exist. Only a personal experience of faith can do that. Carl Baugh already believes in God and so he is going to feel his evidence is irrefutable. Scientist that don’t already believe in God feel quite the opposite about Carl’s conclusions, and this is the point. Here is the entire quote: “The existence of God can never be proved by scientific experiment or by the pure reason of logical deduction. God can be realized only in the realms of human experience; nevertheless, the true concept of the reality of God is reasonable to logic, plausible to philosophy, essential to religion, and indispensable to any hope of personality survival.”
Are angels real?
The Urantia Book says that all humans have angels who watch over them but that not all have “personal guardians.” Some Angels are assigned to groups of mortals but a personal guardian is assigned only to those mortals who have reached a certain level in their spiritual growth. It is absolutely true that God is not respecter of persons, and any person can potentially have their very own guardian angel if the work diligently to grow in spirit. The creation of God is fair and just, God rewards those mortals who willingly strive to know him and be like him. This is, in part, what Jesus meant when he said, “To him who has, more shall be given, while to him who has not, even that which he has shall be taken away.”
Is there only one way to heaven?
It is true that no person will come to the Father except by Jesus. The Urantia Book suggests that this is a literal truth. In your journey inward and upward to Paradise you literally will not advance except that Jesus will be the one to send you on. Literally, not one being in this universe will get to God, except through Jesus. Christians use this too often as a condemnation to Jews and Muslims and Buddhists, teaching that unless one accepts Jesus, now, as the only way to God, they are doomed. Jesus is the way shower to God, but every human who bears the fruits of the spirit and who loves God and values the ways of God, truth, beauty and goodness, has a equal opportunity to advance. Christians do Jesus and mankind a great disservice when they presume to judge (by their own imperfect scriptural interpretation) who has eternal value and who does not. “You can only judge men by their acts, but my Father looks into the hearts of his children and in mercy adjudges them in accordance with their intents and real desires." Anyone can say anything, God looks into the heart.
Your quote: 'And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or lo, he is there; believe him not. For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.'
Jesus himself was accused of being false. He was the one who also chastised the religious leaders of his day for persecuting and killing the prophets of God. Too often folks use this passage as an excuse to discount anything that disagrees with their cherished beliefs and interpretations of scripture. It was Jesus who said, “The old things are passing away, behold, all things are becoming new.” I think he was referring to our religious beliefs as much as anything else.
Thanks for writing and be of good cheer!
